Christmas Morning

Of course I have a million pictures of Christmas morning but I only picked a few for your viewing pleasure. Emery seemed to be a little confused at first when she saw her presents by the tree but she caught on quickly. We opened gifts and ate breakfast at home then headed to mom and dad's for the rest of the day. We ate a huge lunch, read the Christmas story, opened gifts, played our new Christmas present - Wii, ate some more, etc. It was nice to relax with everyone. Again, Merry Christmas and here's to another wonderful New Year to come!!

Merry Christmas!

Hope everyone had a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!! We certainly did. I'll post pictures of it soon. We took these pictures last Sunday - just now getting around to blogging them. Hope everyone had a WONDERFUL holiday!

Lights at the Zoo

Took Emery to see the lights at the zoo for FHE last night. Can't ever get enough Christmas lights! It was chilly but believe you me, I am certainly not complaining. Cold weather and Christmas go hand in hand. Hard to believe it's only one week until Christmas. Have a good one!!

Random Pics

Just some random pictures from earlier in the week.
1. Emery helping daddy cook. She's really into "helping" in the kitchen these days. She pulls up her little chair so she can reach the counter then grabs whatever she can get her hands on.
2. Family Christmas party on Sunday.
3. Emery sitting on Jordan's lap who happens to be sitting on Santa's lap (it's the only way she would go near him).
Hope everyone had a good week! Happy Friday!

What daddy considers a "Fort"...

Rob happened to take a couple of pictures while I was at church last night of what he considered to be a "fort". Oookay, Rob. Obviously he hasn't seen too many forts but we'll definitely give him daddy points for trying. His contraption is more like a "really low to the ground building". Needless to say, Emery would much rather build a fort with her mommy.
Hope everyone is having a good week!!

Christmas Lights

Ventured out last night with mom and dad to see some Christmas lights. Not too shabby. We had an enjoyable time, especially Emery. Too bad the weather doesn't seem to say Christmas. Eighty degrees in December is a little much. Maybe it will cool down again next week. Happy Tuesday!!

santa & shower cap

Spent most of our morning in the doctor's office. It was a crazy long wait and Rob said, "So this is what it feels like to wait on the doctor." Geez.
Everything is measuring normal this week. The ultrasound estimated a 5.3 pound baby right now. He's going to be a good size baby.
After the appointment, we stopped to see Santa. Emery told him she wanted, "A Belle dress & a crown". Wonder where she heard that - maybe Aunt Molly & Uncle Jason can answer my question.
Included a picture of Emery wearing my shower cap - lol. She often asks, "Mama, can I wear your hat."
Hope everyone is having a good week!!

Quiet Time & Birthday Party

LOL - the picture of Pam cracks me up. She is never one to "ham it up". There is sarcasm in my voice. What a hoot!
Emery enjoyed the playdough party for Jessie on Saturday. I have never let her play with playdough before. Has a lot to do with my idea of messy fun but she actually didn't do too bad. My idea of playdough is - sticky fingers, sticky hair, sticky table, sticky floor, etc., but I was wrong. I guess I can get over it now and venture out some. THANKS Pam for a fun party!
Took a picture of Emery during her "quiet time" last week. She's not one to nap on a regular basis these days but we still have quiet time in her room. Normally she plays the entire time but every now and again she gives up and falls asleep, just as the picture depicts.
Hope everyone is having a great week!!

Christmas Tree

Spent most of Saturday morning trying to pick out a Christmas tree. Rob is the picky one, not me. Emery and I spent most of our time walking back and forth to the restroom - too much liquid is not good for a toddler. She has a bladder the size of a humming bird and I think mine is shrinking too.
I know you like the "tie the tree to the top of your car" look. We've done it for so long , it doesn't even phase us now. I must add, we got a steal of a deal at Home Depot on an 8 foot tree - our thoughts are it won't last until Christmas but hey, it's worth a shot for such a cheap tree. Decorating it was a little more challenging but who needs a ladder when you have Uncle Mark in town. Lastly, had to include a picture of Emery - she likes to think of her stocking as a giant sock.
Hope everyone is having a great week!

Good times...

Took a picture of Emery on her way out the door to spend the night with Grandma & Papa. Nothing could excite her more. Rob and I were headed over to Jenny and Brandon's to spend time with a few friends. THANKS Jenny and Brandon for such a fun game night! We'll have to do it more often!

Birthday Party

The first picture is from FHE on Sunday evening - Emery and Spencer enjoying some "Monkey Bread". I should've taken more pictures but forgot.
Saturday we attended Carson's 1st Birthday Party. Emery had a ton of fun, as usual. She likes the idea of "birthday parties" now. She realizes there will be friends, cake, ice cream and presents. I try not to tell her about them until the day before because she will ask everyday, several times a day if it's time to go to the birthday party. I know, I should be a whole lot more PATIENT but some days, I just can't.
THANKS Ginger and Shaun for the invite - you guys did a SUPER job! We had a great time!

The 12 Days of Thanksgiving

On the First Day.....
We give thanks for the fresh turkey feast and its hot trimmings.
On the Second Day.....
We bless the cold turkey sandwiches, sloshy cranberry sauce, and hard rolls.
On the Third Day.....
We praise the turkey pie and vintage mixed veggies.
On the Fourth Day.....
We thank the pilgrims for not serving bison that first time, or we'd be celebrating Thanksgiving until April.
On the Fifth Day.....
We gobble up cubed bird casserole and pray for a glimpse of a naked turkey carcass.
On the Sixth Day.....
We show gratitude (sort of) to the creative cook who slings cashews at the turkey and calls it Oriental.
On the Seventh Day.....
We forgive our forefathers and pass the turkey-nugget pizza.
On the Eighth Day.....
The word ''vegetarian'' keeps popping into our heads.
On the Ninth Day.....
We check our hair to make sure we're not beginning to sprout feathers.
On the Tenth Day.....
We hope that the wing meat kabobs catch fire under the broiler.
On the Eleventh Day.....
We smile over the creamed gizzard because the thigh bones are in sight.
On the Twelfth Day.....
We apologize for running out of turkey leftovers. And everybody says, "Amen!"

Hangin' Out & New Painting

We received a new painting in the mail this week, thanks to Rob's parents. It's actually a painting of their backyard in Alaska. Rob's dad took the picture with his camera then had Rob's aunt paint it. Pretty amazing. Our intentions are to have it framed...one of these days. THANK YOU Bryant and Shauna - we love it!
The picture of Emery hanging on the column is a result of her parent's boredom. I know, I know but man she is strong. lol. We laughed and laughed. Don't worry, that's not fear you see in her eyes, it's faith. lol. Hope everyone is having a good week!

Beach

Paid a visit to the beach this past weekend to help out with some renovations on Jason's condo. We painted a couple of rooms while mom entertained Emery. It was chilly but we happen to make it out to the beach so Emery could play chase with daddy and throw seashells at the seagulls. She is nonstop.
Hope everyone is having a good week!

Toy Magazine

Every now and again while Rob and I read the newspaper, Emery will want a section to "read" too. I normally hand her the comics or whatever we are done reading. This time there happen to be a toy ad/magazine in the paper since Christmas is just around the corner. She studied it for a while. It came in Sunday's paper - today is Friday and she still keeps it close by. It keeps her attention really well when we do our daily walks. Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!!

Baby Shower

I'm a little late on posting this event but I could not find the pictures on my computer. (excuses, excuses)
Anywho, a HUGE THANK YOU to Tonya and lots of others (you know who you are) for the GREAT baby shower last weekend!! It was wonderful! Great food, great company, great gifts - what's not to love! THANKS again everyone - our little boy is certainly blessed.
