December Randomness

In between all the fun and craziness of December, there was also a lot of fun randomness....
Sleeping by the Christmas tree.

Fun with Grandma and Papa at a nearby train & light show.

Klein always liked to mix up the manger scene, no matter how many times I fixed them.  I quit after a while.  Maybe they really were all piled up on each other like this.

Gingerbread houses.

Sunday before Christmas.  It was 80 degrees that day.  Hence, the Christmas sweaters were left unworn.

Sis Lila, who turned 90 on Christmas day (and who we have the pleasure of sitting by during Sacrament meeting) spoiled our little ones with LOTS of Christmas gifts.  She is so sweet.

A visit with Santa.

Gingerbread houses at school.

More fun on the electronic circuit board.

Merry Christmas!!

We asked Emery to try really hard to wait until 7am to wake up. We know, lame, but you know what - it worked. She woke her brothers right at 7am and came running into our room. They were so excited. They gave us time to get up, get dressed, and set ourselves up by the Christmas tree for pictures and videos. Santa managed to fulfill their wishlists and then some. :) We then had a big breakfast with mom, dad, Jacob, and the sister missionaries. The missionaries were also able to Skype home - always nice to see that. Mark and Risa came later that day and then we headed over to mom and dad's for Christmas dinner, more family time, and gifts. It was a long, eventful day. I always think of the end of the movie, "The Christmas Story" when Randy is tucked into bed, fast asleep, clutching a toy. That's how we ended our Christmas day as well. So much fun. :)
Klein's gifts.
Riggs' gifts.
Em's gifts.

Em's "favorite gift" - Thea Stilton books.
Lysol is always a hit, no matter the holiday.  If you knew our boys, you would understand.  There is no such thing as too much Lysol.
Remote controlled helicopter.
Dump truck!
Entertaining the sisters.
Sanitizing the door knobs with his very own Lysol....again, and again, and again.
Making bracelets with her new loom.  She got one in October but seriously wore it out (it was broken in three places but still usable).  Each missionary walked away with 3 new bracelets.  :)
Jacob showing mom how to use all her new gadgets - iphone, ipad, and kindle.
A big cardboard box is always better than what's inside.....at least to a child.  ;)

Christmas Eve

We continued our Christmas Eve traditions of new pajamas (from Mitt the Elf), finger foods for dinner, and our 4th Annual Cookie Decorating Contest. Uncle Jake won again with his nicely decorated star. The kiddos were finally sound asleep by 10:30pm. Too late for us but not nearly late enough for them. Their excitement is contagious. Oh to be a kid again on Christmas Eve!

Zoo Lights

I'm trying to get in all the Christmas posts before the end of the year. Almost there. :) Last week, for FHE, we enjoyed the lights at the zoo. Always a fun time with the fam!

Music

This past week, I was able to attend Emery and Riggs' Christmas musicals. They were entertaining, to say the least. Lots of fun songs, some poetry and even some acting. A fun way to enjoy the Christmas season. :)
