Preschool Graduation

Riggs graduated from Preschool on Thursday night! Woohoo! He made it! ;) I am sitting here (ONCE AGAIN) wondering where the time has gone. I was doing just fine during the little ceremony until they started playing sappy songs and flashing baby pictures. It was all downhill from there. Riggs is just the sweetest little guy. When he came walking up to hand me a flower (during the graduation), I was nothing but tears. He definitely has a soft spot in my heart. I am grateful for the opportunity he had to attend preschool, to learn, to grow, to make new friends and to make even better memories. He is a bright, caring, and helpful child who always tries to do what is right. I look forward to his adventures in Kindergarten even though I would go back in time if I could. ;)

First Piano Recital

Emery started taking piano lessons in September with Mrs.Sara. We told her in the beginning that while it was "fun" now, it may start to get harder but we promised that if she would stick it out for a while, she would not regret it. So far, she has done GREAT! Practicing isn't always the best part of the day but she gets it done and plays well if you ask me. She started out "teaching" me what she learned at her lessons then I completely fell behind. I admire her talent. For her recital piece, she played "Spring" by Vivaldi and it sounded wonderful. Once again, she never ceases to amaze us. Nice job Em!

Soccer

Soccer season has come and gone and what a season it was. This year, Rob agreed to help coach Emery's team. This meant he was at the soccer fields across town several times a week. He would come home from work, grab Em and head straight back to where he came from (her soccer fields are on the same road he works on). Meanwhile, I headed over to another field (which is closer) with the boys for Riggs' soccer practices and games. This was all fine and dandy until game days when their games were always overlapping. Bummer. I saw Em play twice and Rob saw Riggs play twice. Good enough. ;) Go Galaxy! Go Explosion!

Lazy 5 Ranch

Took a quick trip up to NC to visit a ranch we had recently heard about. The traffic was certainly not the highlight of the trip but the ranch was great and so was our stop off in Charlotte on the way back. While at the ranch, we enjoyed a 3.5 mile horse drawn wagon tour while feeding anything and everything that walked up to the wagon. The kids loved it. We hope to make it back again this summer.

Home Repairs

Rob keeps a running list of home repairs. It all gets done when his dad comes to town. ;)

Strawberry Fields

Strawberries are Riggs' favorite fruit and I didn't even get a picture of him in this beautiful strawberry field. He has certainly eaten the most strawberries....well, that's if you don't count all the pieces of Rob's mom's homemade strawberry pie that I enjoyed. That is some good pie. :)

Emery's Baptism

Emery was baptized on Saturday, May 11, 2013. We all shared a great experience with this beautiful little girl. So many of our friends and family were there to support her. Rob and I were truly in awe of all who came. We could never thank each person enough. It means the world to have so many people support such an important decision. All of her grandparents were able to take part in this special occasion. Grandpa Christensen spoke on baptism, Papa spoke on the Holy Ghost and her grandmothers shared their testimonies. Even Riggs did a wonderful job on the opening prayer. :) While Rob stood over her for the confirmation, I distinctly remember her baby blessing in 2005. I remember where I sat in the chapel in Savannah, Georgia. I remember what I was wearing. I remember most of what he said but most importantly, I remember how I felt. It was as if it were yesterday he stood holding her, nervous as all be as she screamed her little lungs out. Wow. Eight years, just like that. Tears rolled down my face as he placed yet another important blessing upon her head. She is such a blessing to us. I am eternally grateful to our Heavenly Father for sending her our way. We definitely don't deserve such a special spirit but give thanks daily for being given the chance to be her parents.
