HIIT

I spend most of my days at the gym with this great group of friends. Dik decided to have t-shirts made for one of our classes together - a fun surprise for our instructor, Karen. Funny how I see these people A LOT but not a single picture of all of us together until now. Glad I have one for keeps. Happy HIIT!

Pumpkin Carving

We carved the pumpkin on Friday night. Emery drew the face on the pumpkin, Rob carved the pumpkin, Klein colored a pumpkin, Riggs stayed away from the messiness, and I snapped pictures. Just another day in paradise. ;)

Rainbow Loom

Apparently Rainbow Looms are all the craze now. It's a cool way to make bracelets out of small rubber bands. Emery picked one out as her treat from her grandparents in Utah from the Dinosaur Museum. Nothing to do with dinosaurs but she has been plugging along with it ever since we got back. She has made one for me, one for Riggs, 3 for friends at school, and 2 for herself. They're pretty neat. :)

Pumpkins!

Time to pull out the fall decorations, buy candy corn, and carve pumpkins. I would like to add to that - turn off the AC, start up the fires, and pull out the blankets but not just yet. AC goes well with eighty degree weather. Pumpkin shopping was fun and somewhat long. Em and Riggs were both so indecisive. Riggs wanted a pumpkin that was ridiculously large and pretty much out of the question therefore it took him a while to pout, get over it, then look for another one. Em was just on the hunt for the "perfect pumpkin". We were finally able to find a few to suit them all. Fun times! :) Now, time to carve.

Headed Home

We left Salt Lake early Wednesday morning. The flights were great and the kiddos were even better. BEST part - I read a book. I haven't even attempted to read a book while traveling in the past 8 years. Given, we don't travel that much but still worth noting. This time, I read an entire book - Heroes For My Daughter. My in-laws gave it to me for my birthday (THANK YOU!). They gave Rob "Heroes For My Son" for his birthday. Both excellent, quick, truly interesting reads. Certainly made our time on planes go by faster. We walked in our door @ 10:30pm that night. While on the plane(s), Emery completed her homework, Klein watched a movie and Riggs slept. Easiest travel in a while. Over all, a really enjoyable family trip. Great experiences, great family, and great friends. :)

Alpine Loop, Dinosaur Museum, and Frontrunner

On Tuesday, we drove the Alpine Loop. Rob and I had no idea you could cross over the mountain on the Alpine Loop. No idea. Where have we been?! It was beautiful. The colors were amazing. We stopped over at Sundance for pictures and browsing. Emery took all the of the outdoor pictures through the window. She did a pretty good job. After the drive, we headed to the Dinosaur Museum. Very entertaining for the little ones - neat displays and fun interactive exhibits. After the museum, we hit up the ice cream shop next door for some sweets. We are big fans, of sweets and this shop. When it was time to leave, Rob suggested he drop us off at the train station to ride the train back to Provo. Great idea. Seriously. I was hoping we would be able to ride it, for Riggs' sake. The kids were so excited. If traveling through the valley on a regular basis, the train is the way to go. Very impressive. Rob and Brian were waiting at the station in Provo to pick us up. The trip was now complete. At least according to the kids. :)
