Pumpkin Power & Welcome to Chas

We bought a pumpkin last week and finally got around to carving it last night. We thought the chosen pumpkin pattern was most appropriate for this year. Please tell me you recognize what it is. lol. Rob was the master carver. It turned out pretty good.
Chas is here to enjoy all the fun. (Just a little sarcasm in there.) I hope we don't bore him to death. We miss you Heather!

F.R.O.G.

We now have a FROG - the most important part of that word being the "F". We do realize it is not a spacious one, but at least it's complete, for now. To give you an idea of just how "spacious" it really is, we had to place the bed in its particular place so visitors would not hit their head when they woke up in the morning - good luck Chas.

Finally....

We told Emery last night that she would be able to wear her Dorothy costume today. (Mom had it done over a month ago. She has been very patient.) Well, all day long, approximately every 30 minutes or so she would ask, "Is it time to put on my dress
yet?" Finally, around 5 pm, it was time to get dressed and this is how she was - completely passed out. This is not normal for her. She is no longer a napper, but today she was. Rob woke her up to let her know it was time to get dressed and she popped up ready to go. Maybe I should tell her that every morning. She had a fun time at the Primary Party. She said her favorite part was the hayride. Sorry, no pictures of that, I was inside and Rob was with Emery.

Trim

It's been a while since I've posted anything. I have a couple of videos but haven't quite figured out how to download them onto here without using YouTube. In other words, NOTHING has been going on around here. Although if you ask Emery, she is extremely excited about her new carseat. So much so that she thought it appropriate to pay her daddy a visit at 6am the other morning and ask, "Daddy, do you like my new carseat?" In which Rob replied, "Yes sweetheart but now is not the time to talk about it." I was too tired to laugh.
Dad and Rob were able to finish the trim on our extra room tonight. It has taken us this long to get things done - mostly thanks to Chas for his upcoming visit otherwise it probably would've taken even longer. So a HUGE thanks to Chas for giving us the extra boost we needed.
THANK YOU dad for helping Rob out. LOL. It was a most enjoyable experience (I'm sure) for the both of you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

Mom had a birthday this past week and we celebrated this weekend with dinner and some cake and ice cream. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM - We love you.

Our children are SPOILED!

Look at all the loot! This is better than Christmas for our kids. lol. Emery hit the jack pot this morning when our nice mail lady brought this package to the door. Aunt Molly is a gem. She gave Emery her very own Dorothy bear. The best part - this use to be Molly's bear when she was young. I told Molly we would take really good care of it so we could pass it on to the next little girl in our family who falls in love with the Wizard of Oz (and NO, I am not pregnant).
Riggs would have been in the picture but he was asleep.
THANK YOU Aunt Molly for all of the goodies - you have certainly made our day! :)

p.s. When Emery saw the picture she said, "What is Riggs' pajamas doing in my picture?" Geez, see what I mean about spoiled.

Nine months have flown by. Most parents say that every time their kid gets older but I promise you, I never said that when Emery was this age. lol. And just for the record - he may look like his daddy, but he is a "mamma's boy"! :)

Daddy's Day Off

Just some random pictures I took on Rob's day off. After he's had a day off, Emery tends to wake up the next morning and expect the same treatment from me. lol. It's not all fun and games with mommy. I mean I try, but she is certainly a "daddy's girl".

An Old Friend :)

Ginger and I packed up a few of our kids and took another short road trip to see a very good, old friend. Ginger, Zara and I go back to 1997, our freshman year at BYU. Zara (and her crazy self) lived across the hall from us in the dorms. She is originally from NC and flew a few thousand miles to see her sister get married in the Raleigh Temple. We reconnected a few short months ago, so it was great to hear she was coming to the east coast for a visit. We were so happy that we could meet up for lunch, catch up on each other's lives and admire the cute babies. Maybe we could convince her to move back this way, who knows.

29 Years

We celebrated my birthday with a drive home from Disney World. Certainly can't complain because I had a GREAT week but leaving all the fun behind was a little depressing. :)
THANK YOU to Rob and Emery for a beautiful cake! They were able to bake me one Sunday afternoon and it was delish!

Hollywood Studios

Our last day in Orlando was spent at Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom again. Hollywood Studios had several good shows for the little ones and several fast rides for the older ones. Thanks to Mark, I always had someone to ride them with (Rob can't quite handle the rollercoasters like he use to - lol). We ended at Magic Kingdom so Emery could take one last look at the castle and enjoy a few rides of her own. I also included a picture of the bedroom Emery stayed in at the vacation home. She loved it.
THANKS to Rob's family for such a fun vacation. I'm counting down to the next one, hopefully it's not too far off.

Relaxing Day

Since our days at the parks can be somewhat long we try to take every other day off to "recover". We were able to enjoy the pool, shop at the outlets, play at the local playground, and visit Downtown Disney so Emery could spend her money. These days are just as enjoyable and great for the kids to catch up on some much needed rest.
As an FYI - Emery decided to buy a pair of silver shoes, a Sleeping Beauty book and a blue Mickey Mouse bracelet (with some money to spare). Rob and I tried very hard to convince her to buy a toy. Certainly not that she needed another toy but I did not want her to get home and be upset that she did not get one. Needless to say, she has not complained once about her purchases, especially the shoes.

Animal Kingdom & Epcot

Another FUN day at the parks. We were able to combine Animal Kingdom and Epcot into one day. With the help from her cousins, Emery was finally able to warm up to the characters. She wanted to hug every one she saw after that (Two years ago was a whole different story). Too bad we weren't able to. The lines for the characters can be as long as the lines for the rides.

Magic Kingdom

We just got back this weekend from a nice vacation with some of Rob's family. I took a ton of pictures so I think I will divide it up by the days (for those of you with a Facebook account - sorry, these are repeats). Our first day was spent at Magic Kingdom. We arrived right around 9am and did not get home until after 10pm that night. What a long, but fun day! The best part was seeing Emery's face light up every time she saw something new. She was so excited to see Cinderella's castle. She really had a great time. Riggs was also a real trooper. He enjoyed the stroller and "It's a Small World" the most. lol.
