Preschool Easter Party

I found a sub for my class on Thursday morning and headed on over to Riggs' preschool Easter party. I am so happy I can attend these little things for him (and Em and Klein). He was excited to see me which makes it all the better. As you can see, he had a lot of fun. :)

Alexander Fleming

Emery had an assignment to do a biography on "Someone Who Changed The World". We brainstormed for several weeks and finally decided upon Alexander Fleming. Alexander Fleming is the founder of penicillin. She wrote a three page biography about his life then did a 5 minute presentation using everything you see in the picture below. Mr. O said that in his 20 plus years of teaching, no one had ever done Alexander Fleming. Surprising to us. Rob and I both learned some fun facts and Emery had a great time "teaching" her class about him. FYI - in the photo are pictures of his "happy home", a trout to guddle (which means tickle), stethoscope, giant penicillin bottle, two potatoes he would carry to school, Nobel Prize, eggs he sold for a few pennies, petri dish explaining the discovery of the medicine, the farm he grew up on, medical books to study, map of Scotland (where he was born), a big barefoot for walking to school, bow tie he always wore, a pair of "big blue observant eyes", and a sword because he was knighted.

Learning Celebration

Emery's class held their "Learning Celebration" on Friday afternoon. Each class has a Learning Celebration twice during the school year. Emery's class talked about money, magnets and their biographies. Her teacher is also a really good guitar player so they sang a few songs about these topics. Very entertaining. Emery did a good job. She wanted to talk about her biography but switched to the magnet group because there were not a lot of people in it. Good choice. We are grateful for CFI and all the neat activities she is able to enjoy and participate in. *The pictures are somewhat dark because we are standing at the back of the room. Klein slept the entire time which meant Rob and I both enjoyed the entire program. :)

Sleepy Heads

So glad they were comfy in our bed. Who needs sleep when you can sit and watch this?! ;)

Sunday

Jason came to town for the weekend. His baseball team won the state championship 20 years ago and they recognized the team at the high school game on Friday night. Later on, the kids were able to Skype with Molly and play a little Uno with her as well. We spent this afternoon at grandma and papa's eating, sleeping, and enjoying the 70 degree weather before it was time for him to go. Emery is getting the hang of driving the Ranger. Only problem being, the boys want to drive too. Rob is always a good sport and helps them out.
