Emery had a loose tooth for a few weeks and enjoyed showing anyone that would look at it just how loose it really was. I am not included in that group of lookers. I am not a fan of loose teeth. On Thursday night (July 21st), she was once again showing off that tooth. Papa then requested a "closer look". Well, being an experienced child of Papa's I knew exactly what he wanted to do I just wasn't sure he was going to do it. Sure enough, one flick from Papa and the tooth flies into the air and drops onto Papa's lap....or so we thought. We were not even thinking of the tooth because I do believe everyone in the room was watching Emery's reaction and grimacing at the same time. It was a complete shock to her. She was fine until she tasted the blood then she shed a few tears. After we "celebrated" Emery, we began looking for the tooth. Just so you know, anything and everything looks like a small tooth including pieces of peppermints and popcorn when you start looking. It's also amazing how dirty our couches are but that's beside the point. Anyways, after 45 minutes of looking, Aunt Molly suggest we all say a little prayer to find this tooth. Of course we chuckle and begin putting the room back together. Rob then shakes the rug and Molly spots something pop up in the air. Sure enough, a small little tooth. Kind of funny yet inspiring at the same time, a great teaching moment for Emery. After searching and searching, a small prayer was said and answered in a matter of minutes. Emery was elated and I do believe Papa was relieved. She placed her tooth in her little tooth box and the Tooth Fairy brought her two gold dollars. The Tooth Fairy also left a note for mommy and daddy along with Emery's first tooth for us to keep. Thank you Tooth Fairy! This is certainly one for the books. :)
