Body Worlds Vital

Saturday morning, we took Emery to see the new exhibit on display at the State Museum - Body Worlds Vital. What an amazing exhibit. We debated whether or not she should go but decided it couldn't hurt. Rob explained everything she had questions about and nothing seemed to surprise her. She walked around taking everything in, just as we did. I must say, the human body is fascinating. All of the information on display was very detailed yet easy to understand. I am certainly not one for anything medical (it sometimes makes me queasy) but this was great! I told Rob to donate my body to science when I die. He doesn't like the idea but if it weren't for these generous donors, our learning would be somewhat limited. I think it's great. If you get the chance, I encourage you to see it.

Grateful

Grateful for a little girl who surprised me with the ability to do a split this evening.

Grateful for a little boy who can clean like no other. And yes, that is his very own vacuum.

Grateful for a little boy who is into everything, especially shoes right now.

Grateful to hang Christmas decorations, as a family, even though there may have been a few "tense" moments/yelling at Klein to "put that down", "stop touching that", "No Klein!". You get the idea. All in the right spirit! We have MUCH to be grateful for and these three little ones are at the very tip top of the list. Happy Holidays! :)

Another Riggism....

This was our conversation while riding to Emery's school this afternoon:
Riggs: Mom, I think I just saw that guy that's on Klein's shirt.
Me: Oh, yeah. (At this point I have NO IDEA what he is talking about. Sometimes, I just let him talk).
Riggs: Yeah, you know, that guy that's on Klein's shirt?
Me: What guy?
Riggs: You know, that guy, Pom Pom. The one with the hammer in his mouth.
Me: lol, ohhhhh, Popeye!
LOL. Yes my children are sheltered and I plan to keep it that way, as long as possible.

These pics obviously have nothing to do with this conversation but they are definitely ALL about Riggs. He is our quirky one but we wouldn't change it for the world. He likes to rub lotion on your feet if he sees you doing any kind of grooming to your toenails. Just ask dad.
We also have our snuggle time in the afternoons. Technically, it's my nap time, Riggs just happen to be right beside me. He doesn't usually fall asleep unless he's extremely tired. This must have been one of those days.

Thanksgiving Program

Mom and I were able to attend Riggs' Thanksgiving Program at his preschool (Rob had a work conference). They sang a few songs and we enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast. Riggs will NOT sing a single song at home but he did a GREAT job during the program. So fun to watch!

A Staple

Got a call from the school nurse yesterday afternoon explaining Emery's run-in with a metal pole. Apparently she was running from a boy (good girl!) at recess and ran into the pole with the side of her head. The nurse told me it might need stitches. I called Rob and he zipped right over to pick her up and put one staple in it. I must say, it is quite nice to have Rob 5 minutes from Emery's school and even nicer that he can pick her up whenever I need him to and put a staple in her head when I need him to, too. Emery is feeling great. Right after her staple, we headed to Zumba. Very happy it was just minor injury. :)

Architecture Field Trip

Emery's class had a field trip on Tuesday and I was lucky enough to join them! It was a field trip about architecture so we visited several sites downtown - the Capital building, lunch at California Dreaming (an old train station), the USC Horseshoe, and the Ronald McDonald house (to make a donation on behalf of their school). It was fun, FULL day. Thanks to mom for keeping the boys so I could join Emery and her class. Her class is a lot of fun and her teacher is wonderful! Can't wait to do it again.

I'm a Mormon

We have been encouraged by our leaders and our missionaries to create a profile on mormon.org. Check it out and if you happen to be Mormon, I encourage you to do the same. Pretty neat!

Halloween Festivities

Just a few last pics of Halloween fun. Jordan invited the kiddos over Sunday evening to bake cupcakes with her. She is one brave, kind soul ;). They loved it, mostly because she let them do EVERYTHING - crack the eggs, splatter batter, lick every spoon in sight, etc. Obviously, I don't. I do believe I need to loosen up. One of these days, I will. At least that's my goal. After we made cupcakes at Jordan's we headed home to carve a pumpkin, ice cupcakes and bake cookies. Thank you Jordan for such a fun evening! The kids are still talking about it.
On Monday, I was able to drop in for a short time at Riggs' preschool to snap my last few pics of our UPS man. He enjoyed carnival games and trick-or-treating with his friends. :) I guess that's about it. Another fun, successful Halloween in the books. Now to get rid of the candy and the weight that comes with it. I told Rob to take it all to church tonight and give it to the youth. He wouldn't. He said he still wanted to eat some of it. Well, so do I. Problem is, I can't seem to stop and he can. It's definitely going somewhere besides my gut. Happy Halloween!! :)
