Anniversary Gift

For our anniversary, Rob made me a 54 minute movie/slideshow, set to music and all, starting on our wedding day, continuing through today, hitting on every special moment in our life. He recently asked me, "Why do you not watch the video?" Great question, my top answer being - It's not healthy for me to cry my eyeballs out every day. Don't get me wrong. It is absolutely THE BEST gift he has ever given me. Very thoughtful. I love it - I love the pictures, I love the music and most of all, I love the memories. It just gets me every time I see our little ones growing faster than I can keep up. It's amazing. Thank you Rob. For everything....

SCHOOL

Wednesday, August 21st was Riggs' first day of Kindergarten and Emery's first day of 3rd Grade. Wow. They were excited to start. While I wasn't exactly "excited", I was happy for them to be back on a schedule, learn new things, and enjoy their friends. As you can see in the pictures, we kept with tradition in reading "The Kissing Hand", giving them a father's blessing, laying everything out, rainbow bread, and taking lots of pictures. While I am happy they are loving school and experiencing new things, I miss my little ones. This is a fun age for all of us. We are cherishing these moments, even if they are going way faster than I ever want them to. Happy 2013-2014 school year! I hope it goes extremely s - l - o - w so we can enjoy every minute. :)
The night before school we read "The Kissing Hand".

Everyone also receives a father's blessing.

BIG HUGS!

Everything is laid out....from now until June.  ;)

A fun surprise to wake up to - 4 pounds of Red Vines.  (While we were at the store earlier in the week, Emery and Riggs were discussing if they had enough money to buy them.)  They were all smiles.

Rainbow Bread

Early morning.  Well, not really.  It's about 7:15 in the picture.  They leave around 7:30ish.

KINDERGARTEN!!

3RD GRADE!!

So excited to be reunited!  They have been together since kindergarten and will be together through 5th grade.  :)

Riggs' class getting ready for Kindergarten.

Unpacking and getting settled in.

Signing in.  :)

Hugging Klein goodbye.  Klein was not an active participant.

Klein enjoyed his alone time with me.  He had the Kindle all to himself.

He had the trains all to himself.

We baked cookies for Emery and Riggs.
We read books then took a nap.  This really is the same day.  I had to change his clothes because he spilled chocolate milk all over himself.

Time to pick them up from school!  I was excited.  :)

All smiles at the end of the school day.

End of Summer Pics

Well, summer is gone as far as being out of school. I want to freeze time. Hate to be the sappy mom but right now, I am. We sent 2 off to school this morning and while I managed not to cry, I am so bummed that our summer is over and they are gone most of the day. I will not miss the bickering but I so miss them. A lot. I count my blessings they are happy, healthy and able to attend a good school. That's what counts. So, here are a few random pics for the end of summer. It's been the best one yet. ;)
Driving the Lawn Mower - he loves it!
Riggs' Shadow
Enjoying the view from inside.
Shower Time - (hope this isn't too inappropriate) but thought it was kind of funny.  ;)
Bowling for the first time!  It was hard on this child.  He thought every turn should be his turn.
Cool baseball gear from Uncle Jake to go with Klein's birthday gift from Uncle Jason and Aunt Molly.
Cool shirts from Spain - Thanks Aunt Molly & Uncle Jason!
Putt Putt!!
On Saturday morning I had the entire gym to myself....for about 1 minute.
Yeah, your guess is as good as mine.
Summer Bucket List Breakfast - "Hashbrowns at McDonald's" per Emery.
Rarity.  Klein with Rob.  ;)

End of Summer Vacation

We headed back to the beach for one last hoorah before school starts next week. This time was shorter but still as much fun, if not more. Em's favorite things - night swimming and the beach. Riggs' favorite things - putt putt and night swimming. Klein's favorite thing - swiping the room key, for sure. Rob's favorite things - sunset cruise and beach. Ashley's favorite things - bike ride and sunset cruise. Fun stuff!! Now on to another chapter in our life - I'm sad, happy, excited, and feeling blessed all at the same time. It's a great feeling. :)
