Cuties

Klein is one happy baby. It doesn't hurt that Emery is also a GREAT big sister....at least to Klein. She and Riggs are still trying to work out their differences but I'm almost positive it will happen any day now, give or take a few years.

Cupcakes

I was able to take birthday cupcakes to Riggs' preschool class this past week. My intentions were to take them the week before his birthday but the snow put a kink in my plan. Riggs didn't seem to mind. He has a very cute class. They all seemed to enjoy the treat. :)

6 Months

Klein is 6 months old today. Woohoo! He has his checkup next week so I'll post those stats later. Here are a few things about Klein:
- He is just now starting to sit up on his own. Still needs practice.
- He is a great people watcher. He is easily entertained by others.
- He has 2 teeth.
- He has been eating baby food for a few days now and seems to enjoy it. He also likes rice cereal.
- He's a big fan of his jumperoo and exersaucer.
- When given the opportunity, he naps well. (Seems like it is often interrupted by schedules or loud kids.)
- He loves Emery and Riggs, especially when they give him their undivided attention.
- He's a happy baby that we all adore!

Happy 6 months Klein!!

Happy 3rd Birthday Jonah Riggs!

Celebrated our little man's 3rd birthday this past Saturday with a Thomas theme party. We asked (well, more like begged) Riggs if he would like to have his party at a place in town that has tons of inflatables and he said, "No, I don't like Bouncerific". What?!? Really?!? Then again, the last time he went there he played with the train table the entire time. Not one bounce was made. Sooooo, we opted for a nice, at-home train-themed party. (I laugh at the thought.) The kids played wildly because I am no good at planning ahead and having true party games but I think they had a good time. Riggs' expression is so funny in a few of these pictures. He liked everyone singing to him, opening presents and his train cake. He has asked for "his cake" several times since the party. He likes what his cake looked like and wants to see the "decorated" cake every day. I tried to explain that we ate it all. So he settles for the pictures instead. We ended the party with a bang - lots of kid friendly fireworks. I think this one may have to be a tradition. Kids love fireworks. Overall, I think it was great and Riggs really seemed to enjoy himself. HAPPY BIRTHDAY RIGGS! We love you.

FYI - A few things about Riggs:
- He loves water and chocolate milk.
- He hasn't had juice since he was a year old and that is completely by choice.
- He has never used a sippy cup. Never liked them.
- He is a mama's boy, through and through.
- He loves trains.
- He loves to "watch a show". Meaning, cartoons.
- His favorite food is pizza, by far.
- He loves, loves, loves gum.
- He can eat bananas like a monkey.
- He is learning his ABC's.
- He loves to be tickled.
- He is very sensitive, mannerly and patient.
- He likes to vacuum.
- He likes going to preschool and to the "Y" (YMCA).
- He likes to stay up at night, as late as possible by "asking one more question".
- He is his own person meaning, he doesn't want what his sister has or do what his sister is doing. He makes up his own mind.
- He plays really well by himself.

First Teeth

Seems like Emery and Riggs would teethe f.o.r.e.v.e.r. and then finally cut a tooth when they were around 9 months or so. That's why we were a little surprised to stick our finger in Klein's mouth on Sunday during Sacrament Meeting and find two teeth. He seems to be doing everything a little bit ahead of schedule. Too bad "sleeping through the night" did not fall under this category. That's okay, he's only little once and his "little" time is flying by at an amazing speed.

More snow....

Oh my gracious the snow. The first day was GREAT fun. Our friends came over, we were actually able to slide down our hill (on boogie boards, no less), drink hot cocoa all day and ate homemade waffles, monkey bread, sausage balls and chocolate chip cookies. Obviously, I liked the food part. Notice our facial battle scars - nothing like face planting into ice and running into a thorn bush. Check out the large pic, yea, that's Riggs's face plowing into the icy snow. Poor fella. Day two was okay. Not too much going on. Watched a movie with the kiddos, ran a few miles at the gym and made it to the grocery store, despite the crazy snow covered roads. Tomorrow is day 3 and Rob has to go in late to work while the kids and I try very hard not to eat each other alive. It should warm up some tomorrow so maybe it will start to melt and we can get this show on the road. The kids are already scheduled to be out of school Friday and Monday. I don't ever remember this happening for us when I was in school. Wish us luck! BTW - we did buy some cheap waterproof boots for the kids today. I bet they will never have to wear them again this year. It's just the way it goes. ;)

Just for kicks...

Rob is less than thrilled about the dress on Riggs but I can't help but laugh. He sure does look cute. (If he's still wearing it in a few years, my thoughts will be somewhat different, but for now, it's "cute".) He's going to hate me and his sister for these pictures one day. After taking his picture they decided to get crazy in the kitchen. In Emery's mind, a cartwheel can be done anywhere at any given time. It does not matter if your brother's head is in the way. It will move once it is kicked. That's why Riggs is pouting in one picture. It's okay though because he has one fierce pinch.

"HAP - eee New Year!!!"

Rang in the new year eating pizza, watching football and enjoying some fireworks. Thanks mom and dad! These pictures crack me up (not to mention, it was late and we're looking a little rough). They were taken by Emery and Mark. Who took which picture?? For some of these, your guess is as good as mine. Hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday. It flew by. HAPPY 2011!
